How to insert an image in the comment box — on your OWN blog?

Yesterday, I published my Top 18 favourite bloggers.

In fun exchanges with Robin Coyle, the ‘Strong vs Weak Words’ martyr, I was stunned to discover I could insert IMAGES in the comment box, like this:

Isn’t it cool to insert an image in your comment (on your own blog)?

I later put all my Top 18 bloggers’ images in the comment box. When you click on the individual image, you’ll be taken to the blogger’s site.

Images with comment. Cool!

How did I put an image on my OWN blog’s comment box?

1) Upload an image on to the Media Library. Eg, I uploaded Tilly Bud’s image. (p/s: Tilly Bud is the glorious Laughing Housewife)

1) Upload image

2) Find the FILE URL — the longest line on this page.

2) File URL is important.

3) Use this code as sample:

<a href=”blog’s URL HERE“><img title=”Give your image a name” src=”Your File URL here” alt=”" width=”150″ height=”150″ /></a>

4) Replacement: (It’s a bit like doing algebra! Oh no!)

Eg:

Tilly Bud’s Blog URL is: http://thelaughinghousewife.wordpress.com/

Tilly Bud’s File URL is: http://janetscraft.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/tilly-bud-the-laughing-housewife.jpg

The Outcome

To show Tilly Bud’s image in the comment box of your OWN blog, you simply copy the following code:

Code: copy with care is required.

Or, you can simply copy and paste the code from my attachment.

Open the Word document below:

How to add the image of Tilly Bud in your comment (on your OWN blog)?

I’ve just tried this code, and it worked.

Good luck! I hope you have fun trying this new trick.

I saw this on The Daily Post and thought it would be an interesting read. I figured it would involved the image code, as the comment box is responsive to HTML anyway, but you spelling it all out here saves me experimenting. So thanks for that tip :)
